I tried to depict a Treecreeper coming in off the sea at Spurn in this illustration. A bird turned up in Church Field/Kew Villa area and was believed to be of the race familiaris from fenno-scandia/eastern europe. Having been fortunate enough to see them in Sweden and a single bird on the cliffs on Fair Isle I feel very lucky indeed as they are a very stunning bird.
Its hard to imagine these arboreal specialists fighting their way over the north sea to reach land
MAGIC!
