I thought I would upload some art by my dad to mark the opening of his new blog.

He is a very different artist to me but does take a lot of inspiration from other organisms around him, which may help explain where I get my passion for illustrating birds and wildlife

He has never formally taught me but played a large part in my artistic development as a child by encouraging me to draw....I just wish he had got me using watercolours and acrylics at a very young age so I could paint as well as he can

In keeping with the bird them rather than the bovine theme (his personal favourite)I thought I would upload three of his paintings containing birds in some shape or form that may not be anatomically accurate as such (sorry dad) but lend themselves very well to his style

Ray Turley 1949-2011

I thought I would take this opportunity to pay tribute to Ray Turley who sadly past away earlier this year. Although I never personally met him I felt compelled to celebrate his life in my own way having enjoyed many of his illustrations and paintings in the past

May he rest in peace and his artwork being enjoyed for many years to come
