ENOUGH SAID......

NEW ART FOR A NEW YEAR

I thought I would make more of an effort this year to stay on top of Blog posts, I have somewhat neglected blogging given the ease of updating my facebook and twitter art page (links to these no on top right of blog page) & because of my heavy work load.

However I intend to update them all as regularly as one another this year with an array of my work.

As you will have seen I advertised for Christmas commissions at the back end of 2012 and can't thank all of the people who requested pieces enough for there support.

Not only did I love working on all the pieces requested but learnt numerous new skills, new techniques and discovered more about a wider range of artistic mediums and personal comfort zones.

Here are a few such pieces at various stages of completion:

Trying my hand at Horse Illustration, a different art all together!

Adult Male Great-Spotted Woodpecker with juvenile (the beginnings)

Glaucous-Winged Gull the beginnings, I wish at this point I had made the primaries a somewhat paler shade. The primaries appear to dark for my liking to do this species justice.

Glaucous-Winged Gull (Larus glaucescens) Saltholme 2008/2009,
found by a very good friend

Bewick's Swans, illustrations I completed for a true gentlemen (John Melmoth) for his new book Swanfall (sequel to welcome) which can be found by clicking on the link!

Bewick's Swans, I loved doing these illustrations!

American Black Tern (Chlidonias niger surinamensis), a 1st for Yorkshire and Spurn

A recent painting of 'STORM' a horse belonging to some very good friends
