I caught up with this bird a day before it departed and thank goodness I did.......WOW. What a privilege it is to see such a bird on British/Yorkshire soil and was a lovely contrast to the bird back at Spurn in 2007, just a shame parts of the oak hedge surrounding the field in which it resided had been snapped off to allow for better views!!!
p.s I think an artist could send him or herself mad trying to get the blue just right. COBALT TEAL should definitely be renamed ROLLER BLUE!
